Object documentation Custom Resources Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Definition

Resources are image, audio, video, and program files that you associate with interaction components and button controls to enhance the functions in and appearance of an application.

Example

To extend the functions an application offers, you can associate a video clip with a button control. If the user chooses the control in the runtime application, the video plays.

To enhance application behavior, you can associate a music file that plays when the user shuts the system down.

Note

Custom resources are stored as development objects in the mobile application repository.

Use

Mobile Application Studio (MAS) offers many custom resources and you can add your own to the application as you require. The following table contains information about resource types along with their allowed file formats, with which interaction component they are used, and what property must be set to assign the resource to that interaction component.

Example

A business component in a mobile client application provides a feedback form for the user. The form is a Microsoft Excel Sheet (.XLS) file associated as a custom resource with the related business component. Once these have been associated, you can reference the .XLS file in the scripts you write for the interaction component.

For more information, see Writing Scripts for the Interaction Component.
