This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

...

       1.      The Mobile Upgrade Package (MUP), comprising Upgrade Scripts, properties and the type of upgrade, is created. This is done on the Mobile Development Workstation (MDW) using the Mobile Upgrade Console. For more information, see Structure linkCreation of Mobile Upgrade Packages.

       2.      The MUP is sent to the Mobile Repository Server (MRS). The type of upgrade sent (online or offline) depends on what you indicated earlier.

¡        Online mode – The Mobile Upgrade Console sends the MUP to the MRS. For more information, see Structure linkSending Mobile Upgrade Packages: Online Mode.

¡        Offline mode – The initial MUP is sent via CDs to mobile clients. A second MUP is created containing the Offline Upgrade command. For more information, see Structure linkOffline Upgrade Deployment.

       3.      The MAR Transport Agent sends the MUP to the CRM Server.

       4.      Mobile clients receive the MUP based on subscriptions.

       5.      The Mobile Upgrade Deployer that is available on the mobile client automatically extracts and deploys the MUP.
