Use

The aim of trade promotions and campaigns is to increase brand capital by raising the awareness level, market share and sales volume, and by introducing new products onto the market. In order to achieve this aim, all of these marketing activities must be included in a cross-enterprise, global marketing and sales strategy. They should be aligned so that they complement and strengthen each other, rather than seeking to run independently of each other. Account managers may, for example, hold back some promotions to wait and see how earlier promotions perform and the results indicate what action might be best.

The marketing calendar is designed to act as a central entry point and to provide a working area that gives you an overview of all promotional events within a certain time range, providing basic information, such as the name of the promotion, status and time range in the form of bars. It also allows you to create new promotions or campaigns by creating a bar directly in the appropriate time range and to reschedule any of your planned activities by moving these bars around to a more appropriate time slot. You can also delete activities or copy them.

Features

The marketing calendar allows you to define criteria for displaying your marketing projects. To do this, you create a query. It also allows you to look at your marketing projects from several perspectives or viewpoints; for example, by brand, customer, or product group by selecting a particular view.

You can also choose the way in which your promotional activities are displayed, either in a graphical display or a list display or view. The list view contains the additional options of moving several marketing projects from one year to another and also allows you to make a mass change to them and to make changes directly in the list, for example, you can change the status of 5 campaigns in one go. The list has to be explicitly fetched by the user executing a query. The number of entries in the list is limited to 100 entries. You can also copy and paste marketing elements to new elements. You then simply need to change the identification and description of the elements in the list view. To print the calendar itself, however, you need to be in the calendar view.

You can select the time period you wish to use, that is whether you display a promotion in daily, weekly, or monthly terms and you can define colors and shapes in the calendar profiles. Different colored bars are used to display the status and type of promotions and shapes to show the difference between actual promotions or campaigns and their aggregations. If you select the Key icon, you can see what these different colors and shapes represent.
