Background documentation Repository Administration and Runtime Object Generation Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

The SAP CRM Middleware Repository is used to store meta-information for repository object types.

The meta-data are grouped in different repositories (BDoc type repository, replication and realignment repository, publication repository, etc.)

This meta-information is used to generate runtime objects such as function module definitions for interfaces and services. Runtime objects are stored in the R/3 Runtime Repository.

Industry-specific runtime objects must be initially created for the object types delivered with the installation or recreated after a customer modification affecting the meta-information. If you transport modified meta-information, you must see the transport log for further information.

Runtime objects that are not specific to your industry are contained in the delivery.

Repository data is maintained and stored in the CRM Server
