International Address Version Maintenance 

 

Use

You use theInternational Address Version function to create different address versions in different character sets, for example English and Chinese, for a business partner address, within a business transaction itself. The address versions maintained here are document dependent and are not saved in, nor do they affect, the address details maintained in the business partner master data.

By maintaining address versions here, instead of in the master data, you avoid the risk of deleting or altering essential master data records and you do not need special system authorizations for master data maintenance.

This function is only available within business transactions in the SAP GUI.

 

Integration

This function is an enhancement of the International Address Version function as found in Business Address Services.

 

Prerequisites

Business partner addresses must be maintained in the master data so that various address versions can be maintained. For further information on maintaining business partner master data please see the documentation on Business Partners.

 

Example

You have created a sales order for Johnson Electronics and the system has entered the address version stored in the business partner master data into the sales order. The address version in the master data has been maintained in English. A colleague in China opens the document, selects a partner on the partner tab page and calls up the details for the partner. The colleague then uses the International Address Version button on the detail page to add a Chinese version of the address to the document. The Chinese version is saved only within this document and the master data records remain untouched.
