Use

You use this function to attach files to a business component in a mobile client application. Attachments contain any kind of additional information about a business object or a business component.

 

Features

·        Attach Files of Any Format

You can attach files of any format, for example Microsoft Office, picture, audio, and video files.

Example

You can create a Microsoft PowerPoint file and then link it to an activity, for example, a meeting with a business partner.

·        Attach Files to Business Objects

You can attach files to a business object using any of the following methods:

¡        Create an attachment record

You can browse and attach files that you have created and stored in your user database.

¡        Link to attachments

You can search for files that have been created by other sales representatives and then link to them. Furthermore, you can also preview a file before linking to it.

¡        Copy and link to attachments

You can copy a file to your user database and then link to it. Once a file is saved to the user database, you can link to this file from other business objects. You use this function when you to want to use a file created by another sales representative, but only make a few changes to the content based on your requirements.  

·        View and Work with Attachments

You can view, modify, and delete attachments. Furthermore, you can also export attachments to any folder on the mobile client or on a network.

In addition you can also:

¡        Specify if an attachment is to be uploaded to Content Management on CRM Enterprise or to the consolidated database (CDB).

¡        Indicate an attachment as private. This specifies that the attachment will only be stored in the user database and will not be uploaded to CRM Enterprise or to the CDB.

·        E-mail Attachments

You can e-mail attachments using your default mail client. The mobile client currently only supports Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes.
