A subprocess of the overall billing process in a Billing Engine Application (BEA).
Input processing precedes the actual billing subprocess.
Input processing involves processing the billing-relevant data passed on from one or more source applications. If input processing is successful, this source data will be stored as billing due list items. If input processing is unsuccessful, a list of the source data records affected is written to the processing log.
