Business Partner Department Hierarchy

Definition

Hierarchical representation of your business partners' internal structures.

Use

The system uses business partner department hierarchies, as well as any other relationships maintained for the business partner, when calculating prioritized listings.

Structure

Each node has exactly one superior node.

Each tree has only one top node, or root. Several trees can exist in parallel, but top nodes have no superior nodes.

From each subordinate node, there is only one path leading to a top node. This means that there are no loops within the tree.

Example

This sample business partner department hierarchy is taken from the retail area, and shows headquarters, distributors, subsidiaries, and points of sale (POS).
