The product hierarchy master data is used to support planning, logistics, modeling, forecasting, and reporting. For example, you need a product hierarchy to plan promotions or schedule demand modeling and forecasting processes.
Demand Data Foundation (DDF) uses an inbound interface (function module/DMF/MDIF_PROD_HIER_INBOUND
) to receive the product hierarchy master data through a Remote Function Call (RFC).
DDF can receive the product hierarchy master data from an SAP ERP application (transaction DRFOUT
) or a non-SAP application.
You have ensured that DDF is configured.
If you assign products to a product hierarchy, you have ensured that the products exist and are available in DDF.
The inbound interface receives the Create
and Delete
actions for the product hierarchy data.
The inbound interface receives the association of products to a product hierarchy.
DDF provides different product hierarchy types, such as an article hierarchy and a merchandise category hierarchy.
Time Dependent Product Hierarchy is not supported for SAP Merchandise Planning for Retail 1.0.
