You use the Monitor Imports
function to manage the processing of your master data and transaction data on the inbound interface. You import the data in two steps: first from the external system to the staging tables, and then from the staging tables to the production tables. For more information, see Inbound Processing.
Note
To access this function on the SAP Easy Access screen (transaction nwbc), choose
.Processes different message types. For a master data object, this can include location data, for example. For a transactional data object, this can include historical sales data, for example.
Provides a scheduling concept, that is, a definable processing sequence of message types, definable package sizes for the different message types, and parallel processing of message types.
Provides error handling.
Note
You can choose to bypass the staging tables and save the import data directly in the production tables. You can set this bypass in Customizing (transaction SPRO) under
. For more information, see the Customizing activity documentation.Use the Available Message Types
area to navigate through the import data in the staging tables. Note that the same message type can refer to several staging tables.
To display the data records of a message type, select a hyperlink in the same row as the message type. The records are displayed in the Message Type
area on the right.
To display the exceptions for a message type, select the hyperlink in the Erroneous
column. In the Message Type
area, select the desired records and choose Exceptions
. The exceptions are displayed in the Exceptions
area.
To display detailed information about an exception, select the exception and choose Display
.
Choose Auto Refresh
> Enabled
.
Specify how often you want the display to be refreshed.
Choose Auto Refresh
again.
Recommendation
Disable the auto refresh if you have large data volumes to process and notice an impact on performance. You can always refresh the table manually by choosing Refresh
.
You can process the records of the selected message types into the corresponding objects manually. For example, you can transfer records from the staging tables to the production tables:
Choose Manual Processing
.
Select the message types, adapt the package sizes if necessary, and choose Execute
.
The records of the corresponding staging tables are packaged as specified and processed in parallel. There are no changes on the screen.
If you have records with errors in key fields, you can only delete those records manually:
Choose Manual Deletion
.
Select the data that you want to delete and choose Execute.
You can clean up staging tables that contain orphaned data. Orphaned data cannot be processed. For example, you might want to remove time-dependent records for a nonexistent parent record.
Choose Cleanup Staging
.
Select the data that you want to clean up and choose Execute
.
