 Historical Inventory

 

With this feature you can have Demand Data Foundation (DDF) save historical inventory information. The Define Historical Inventory Information Customizing activity has been added for this purpose.

Historical inventory information is stored by taking a copy of the snapshot of inventory that is integrated from the SAP ERP system on a periodic basis.

Effects on Existing Data

In the standard system, the historical inventory information is not saved.

Effects on Data Transfer

The system uses an inbound interface (function module /DMF/OPIF_INVENTORY_INBOUND) to receive the inventory information through a Remote Function Call (RFC). Note that the system saves historical information only for inventory of type code Unrestricted-use stock.

If you want to save historical inventory information, select the Save Historical Inv option. For more information, see the Customizing activity documentation in your system (transaction SPRO).
