With this feature you can benefit from an enhanced handling of public holidays when modeling and forecasting consumer demand. The feature provides better support for the semantics of different holidays. For example, Christmas has a different effect on demand than Labor Day
In previous releases of Demand Data Foundation (DDF) with Unified Demand Forecast (UDF), the effects of holidays on the unit sales were measured along with the other demand influencing factors (DIFs). The new feature now measures a ramp-up and ramp-down period per holiday. The effects are measured for each holiday, and allow for holidays that have shorter or longer ramp-ups and ramp-downs.
