Business Context and Use

The Find Demand Planning Times Series by Elements service operation is used to request the time series data for supporting standard business processes.

In support of various planning or business purposes, an external application can request any time based data, such as the sales history or the forecast data.

For example, a merchandise planner creates the following year’s revenue goals. The planning application can retrieve both the future forecast for a specific time period and the sales history to better understand the previous period's performance.

  • DemandPlanningTimeSeriesTDMByElementsQuery_sync

    Receives data for the demand planning time series search. This type can contain data for the following: Time Bucket Size Code, Validity Period, Material ID, Location ID, Retail Incentive Offer ID, Type Code.

  • DemandPlanningTimeSeriesTDMByElementsResponse_sync

    Returns the following data types, which is based on the search criteria mentioned in the inbound message: Consumption Time Series, POS Time Series, Store Traffic Time Series. At least one input parameter must be provided for the query. The output is based on the AND operation over all input parameters provided.

  • Mapping is performed using the Service Mapping Tool (SMT) and no other Customizing settings are required.

  • The method calls are as follows:

    • /dmf/cl_dmpl_ts_assist=>mapping_inbound_qr

    • /dmf/cl_dmpl_ts_assist=>read_ext_time_series

    • /dmf/cl_dmpl_ts_assist=>mapping_outbound_qr

  • If you do not select the Unlimited checkbox and send 0 (zero) as the maximum value, the system takes the upper limit as 1.
