With this feature you can integrate promotions that were defined in SAP ERP so that Unified Demand Forecast (UDF) can use them as input data to model and forecast future demand. Providing promotional information as part of historical demand data is very important because promotions can significantly impact consumer demand and thus, also the forecasted unit sales. You can use the SAP ERP promotions in addition to promotions defined in SAP Promotion Management for Retail.

Demand Data Foundation (DDF) can receive different types of historical demand data, based on different time series. Please note the following restriction for this feature:
You can only use the ERP Promotion Views with the virtual data models (time series source: POS_VDM
or SO_VDM
). The point-of-sale (POS) data and the sales order (SO) data is provided by SAP Customer Activity Repository.
You cannot use the ERP Promotion Views with the aggregated POS data that is persisted in DDF (time series source: POS_TS
) because this data does not contain promotion IDs.
