Master data records can accumulate over time, so you can schedule the system to purge them. Purging physically removes the records from the database.
You can purge the following master data from Demand Data Foundation (DDF) using the /DMF/PURGE_AGENT
report (transaction SE38):
Inventory
Location
Location Hierarchy
Offer
Placeholder Product
Product
Product Hierarchy
Product Location
Transportation Lane
Vendor Fund
Your user is authorized to purge data from the system.
You have defined the purge settings in Customizing (transaction SPRO) under
.Data records have been marked for deletion.
You can do the following:
Define the objects that you want to purge and run the report to remove them from the database.
If you select the Cascade Purge
field in the Define Purge Settings
Customizing activity, the system verifies whether dependent objects can be purged as well.
Create variants of the report and use them when scheduling background jobs or purging data manually.
Check the successfully purged records using the Application Log
function. Choose transaction SLG1 and specify /DMF/APPL as the object and /DMF/OFFER_PURGE as the subobject.
Check the erroneous records using the Monitor Exceptions
function (see Monitor Exceptions).
You select the objects to be purged. For example, to purge the data for the offer 345, you select the Offer
checkbox and enter 345 in the Offer ID
field.
