 Tracing Forecast Influencing Factors

With this feature, you can now trace the factors that have influenced the demand forecasts generated with Unified Demand Forecast (UDF). This gives you a better understanding of the forecast values and allows you to do forecast analyses at the level of individual product locations. Forecast tracing is available for all supported time series sources (see Time Series).

For example, you can use forecast tracing to do the following:

  • Evaluate the impact of planned future prices and offers.

  • See the prices based on which the forecasts have been generated.

  • See why a particular daily forecast was set to zero (for example, because the location is closed on that day or the product is not listed).

  • Do in-depth forecast analyses (see Analyzing Forecasts with New SAP Fiori App).

You can activate forecast tracing using the existing Define Forecasting Control Settings Customizing activity under Start of the navigation path Cross-Application Components Next navigation step Demand Data Foundation Next navigation step Modeling and Forecasting End of the navigation path . For more information, see the accompanying documentation (transaction SPRO).

The following system objects have been changed:

  • Create Forecast Trace: New column in the Customizing activity, where you can activate the tracing.

  • /DMF/UFC_TRC: New table containing the tracing results.

  • HCO_DDF_UDF: Updated delivery unit, which now also includes the content for forecast tracing.
