Notes on SAP Implementation

  • You have ensured that the Demand Data Foundation (DDF) module in SAP Customer Activity Repository has been installed and implemented. Applications using DDF require additional installation and implementation steps. For more information, see the installation guide for your application, which you can find on SAP Service Marketplace at Start of the navigation path http://service.sap.com/instguidesInformation published on non-SAP site End of the navigation path.

  • You have ensured that the logical system has been defined in Customizing under Start of the navigation path Cross-Application Components Next navigation step Demand Data Foundation Next navigation step Basic Settings Next navigation step Define Logical Systems End of the navigation path. For more information, see the Customizing activity documentation (transaction SPRO).

  • DDF receives the data through an eXtensible Markup Language (XML) message. The data is saved in DDF. For more information, see Inbound Processing.

  • DDF allows customers to import and actually delete low resolution images from the system and from the MIME repository where images are stored. Various image formats are supported, such as .jpg, .gif, and .bmp. Along with the image or the URL, various image attributes are required to allow DDF to create advertising content and advertisement layouts. These attributes represent the promotional advertisement, which is then used as an export to their appropriate desktop publishing software.

  • The Advertisement Graphic Replication In interface is designed to carry the actual images in binary format along with the metadata for these images. The binary format images are stored in the MIME repository on the SAP application server for DDF. The metadata of the images is loaded into the DDF.
