Configure Load Balancing
During workload processing, the system breaks a single operation or service into many smaller tasks (task decomposition). It then runs each of these tasks as separate dialog work processes (task requests or screen changes).
You use the Load Balancing function to define the workload settings.
This configuration is shared by all services running the same process in this client. For example, if two users are running mass maintenance on product location data at the same time, they are using the same configuration data. The processing might be affected by the configured limits, such as the setting for Maximum Work Processes.
You have ensured that the system elements have been defined for the standard SAP server groups and the dialog work processes.
This function does the following:
Distributes the workload evenly within the system.
Allows the system to process tasks in parallel.
Affects only operations occurring in the client.
Defines a maximum number of work processes.
You can define the configuration settings for inbound services, mass maintenance services, and other system areas. You must ensure that you have entered a value in the Logon/Server Group field and have entered a value greater than zero in the Max Work Processes field for all services that you want to use.
To use load balancing for the Product Location Price entry, which is located in the Service field, you enter a value in the Logon/Server Group field and enter a value greater than zero in the Max Work Processes field.
