Customer Data (Optional)

SAP Customer Activity Repository acquires transaction data from two main sources: TLOGs from connected POS systems and several types of sales documents from a source SAP ERP system. Typically, SAP ERP sales documents include a customer identifier. POS transactions can also include a customer identifier, provided that the customer identifies themselves at the time of purchase (typically, this is achieved through the use of loyalty cards). To reconcile the customer identifiers included in SAP ERP sales documents, and the customer ID presented at the POS, SAP Customer Activity Repository uses customer data stored in a CRM system (for example, SAP CRM).

If you are implementing the optional integration with a source CRM system, you replicate all required customer data from the CRM system into the repository. If the CRM system in your landscape is SAP CRM, you replicate business partner information into the SAP Customer Activity Repository and use the default implementation of the functionality that assigns customers to POS transactions.

The replicated customer information is used in the repository to:

• Perform customer identification in POS transactions.

• Integrate with applications such as interaction center in SAP Customer Relationship Management and SAP Customer Engagement Intelligence.

The table below lists the SAP CRM customer data that is required to identify and harmonize customer identifiers in the multichannel transactional data in the repository.
