Use this procedure to add and remove packages from package links. When you add packages to a package link, you can execute them in a sequence.

Prerequisites

To add a package to a package link, the package must be defined (see Adding and Modifying Packages).

Procedure

  1. On the action pane, choose   Maintain data management   Manage packages (organize list)  .

  2. Choose Add or Modify Package Link.

  3. Enter a package link name and description.

  4. Choose Add task to add a new package task to the package link.

  5. Choose Set prompt to add package parameters as a template.

When you specify package parameters, they are saved in the package link and do not need to be specified at runtime. If you change the package script, then the parameters saved in the package link are not validated; when you run the package link without specifying the changed package parameters, the package maybe fail and then the package link may fail.

If you not specify package parameters, then you must specify the parameters at runtime.

  6. Choose Save Package Link List.

    Note Note

You must save the package before you can run it. Adding the package only adds it to the folder list. Saving it makes it available for use.

    End of the note.
