Dynamic hierarchy information is integrated with reporting functions for both general and statutory reporting requirements.

Features

  • For reporting on data in a general application, you can use the drag and drop reporting feature, or the EvDRE function. When you perform expansions on dynamic hierarchy dimensions, the system displays the dynamic hierarchy members.

  • For statutory application reporting, you can perform EvDRE expansions for a dynamic hierarchy below a base-level Entity member dimension. You can expand on Entity and Group at the same time or use Entity Expansion to represent the dynamic hierarchy base in different time and category combinations. Any fixed group dimension structure used in statutory dynamic hierarchies remains intact in EvDRE reporting.

In the EvDRE control panel, setting the option Dynamic Hierarchy Expansion to Y activates the dynamic hierarchies in report expansion; setting this option to N provides normal EvDRE expansion.

  • You can choose also whether to view dynamic hierarchies or standard Groups and Entity dimensions in the current view by making the appropriate selecting in the Current View selector. Thereafter, when the application type is consolidation, the dynamic hierarchy replaces Groups and Entity in the Current View. In addition, when you select the Group dimension in the Current View, the dynamic hierarchy stored with ownership application displays instead of the normal dimension hierarchy.

  • For the NetWeaver platform, when you set the Option key range DynamicHierarchyExpansion to Y, depending on what expansion dimensions you choose, you can use the keywords as described below.

    • If Groups G-type dimension is expanding combined with Entity E-type dimensions, which means G-type and E-type are both in the column or row of the expansion axis without other dimensions in the same axis, the following keywords are supported for the G-type dimension:

SELF, BAS, DEP, ALL, MEMBERS, BASMEMBERS, PARENTAFTER

For use against a static hierarchy for a Group-type expansion

In this case, E-type dimensions are expanded according to the dynamic hierarchies. For the given G-type member, the E-type members that belong to the group are enumerated. Therefore, no keywords are required for the E-type dimension in this model.

    • If the E-type dimension is expanding alone, the following keywords are supported:

      SELF, BAS, DEP, ALL

For use against a dynamic hierarchy for an Entity-type expansion

This is typically used against a dynamic hierarchy for an Entity-type only expansion. To have this type of expansion, the ENTITY property for the Group dimension must be set up and each group must define a unique Entity to store consolidation Group entries.

The following table summarizes the keywords you can use when reporting by dynamic hierarchy:
