Function documentationContent Library Objects Locate this document in the navigation structure

You can add objects to Content Library pages you have created. See Web Page Management. After you add an object to a page, the page displays any subsequent updates to the object.

Features

You can add the following types of objects:

  • A Web-Ready File, which can be a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, published report, Microsoft Word document, Microsoft PowerPoint slide, Web page, and so on, which has been published using Interface for Excel.

You specify a title for the file and then select the file from an application set, application, or team publications folder. Files in the application set folder have the highest level of visibility and are available to all valid users of the application set. Files in the application folder are available to all valid users of an application (versus the application set). Files in the team folder are available only to a particular team.

  • A Web-Ready Book, which is a book of reports. You specify a title for the book, then select the book from an AppSet, Application, or Team publications folder.

    Note Note

If you selected a specific report from the book and the report has VaryKeys defined for any dimensions, select one or more members or select CurrentView so the system takes the members from the current view of the user. When set to CurrentView, there may not be reports for every current view combination. When no report is available for the current view combination, the system displays a message stating no report is available.

    End of the note.
  • A Live Report — File, which is a report created from Live Reporting.

  • A Document — File, which is a document saved to the Content Library.

  • A Documents List, which is a list of documents saved to the Content Library.

  • A Website, for which you specify the URL.

    Note Note

If the site you add to a page contains code that blocks it from displaying in a framed page, the site opens in a new window when a user opens the containing page. This is because Interface for the Web uses frames, and some commercial web sites detect that their pages are contained in frames, and redirect their output to a whole page.

    End of the note.
  • A BPF (Business Process Flow) to do list.

    Note Note

You can optionally enter the name of a background image to display behind the BPF list. The image must reside in the /webfolders/<appset>/AppSetPublications/BPFBackground folder on the server.

    End of the note.
