This function allows you to define formulas that perform calculations with special requirements on Planning and Consolidation dimension members and data.

Features

You can create the following two types of logic:

  • Dimension member formulas, which for example might calculate Gross Margin Percent (see Dimension Logic).

  • Script logic, also referred to as K2 logic, which might perform currency conversion in specific scenarios (see Script Logic).

You typically use a combination of both types to achieve the desired data management results.

The logic module reads a specific data selection from the application and applies to it a set of user-defined formulas that Planning and Consolidation stores in a logic file. The system derives the necessary values and writes those values back to the application as base data, which is aggregated up the dimensional hierarchy without being recalculated at upper levels. All dimension member formulas are applied to these results. Formulas are applied only to those members specified in the logic file.
