To install SAP BusinessObjects Analysis, edition for Microsoft OfficeLocate this document in the navigation structure

Context

Analysis is a component of the SAP Front End installation. You can install Analysis centrally from an installation server or locally from a distribution medium such as DVD.

To install SAP Front End, follow the instructions in the installation steps under “Installation of the SAP Front End” in the SAP Front End Installation Guide on SAP Service Marketplace at http://service.sap.com/instguidesInformation published on SAP site.

For Microsoft Office 2010 and Microsoft Office 2013, Analysis consists of two installable components:
  • Analysis plug-in
  • EPM plug-in

Procedure

  1. Start the installer file (.exe).
    The SAP Front-End Installer wizard appears.
  2. Select Next >.
  3. Select the components you want to install, in the component list of the SAP Front End Installer dialog box:
    • The Common Office Framework component is always selected and can not be deselected.

      If you select Add In is always active, the Add-in is always enabled when you open Microsoft Excel or PowerPoint (load behavior 3).

    • Select Analysis plugin, to install the Analysis plug-in.
    • Select Enterprise Performance Management plugin, to install the EPM plug-in.
  4. Choose Next.
    The SAP Front End Installer prompts you to confirm or change the target directory for Analysis.
    Note The default path is C:\Program Files\SAP BusinessObjects\ Analysis.
  5. If necessary, change the target directory and choose Next to start the installation.
  6. In the confirmation screen, choose Done.
  7. Analysis has to be started once directly via the launcher to enable Analysis in any Microsoft Excel or Microsoft PowerPoint file.

    This can be done locally by the user starting Analysis in the Windows directory or by choosing the desktop icons.

    You can also configure all client PCs automatically. In order to distribute the user specific settings automatically, you can define a Group Policy. For more information, see the Microsoft Office documentation.

Results

The selected components of Analysis, edition for Microsoft Office have now been installed and are ready to use in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
