Example: Combined Settlement Charge for Balance Transfer
During a combined settlement, you can levy a periodic charge for every master contract relationship between a funding account and a funded account. Before the system calculates a charge, you must have stored a corresponding condition type in the financial conditions of the master contract. You configure the charge that can incur for every funding and funded account of a balance transfer relationship as a combined settlement charge.
The system calculates the charges as a settlement-based condition from the number of accounts participating in a master contract. It then debits the total of the charges to the participating account that you have specified as settlement payment details for the master contract.
You can exempt one or more accounts from the combined settlement charge by specifying an appropriate number of free items
when defining the conditions. If you use one-to-many balance transfer relationships (1:n) or many-to-many balance transfer relationships (n:m), you can define a free item, for example, and thus suppress the charge for an account participating in a master contract relationship.
If a funding account offers its balance to multiple funded accounts (such as loan), (n:m relationship), and you wish to debit the totals of all the charges to the same account, you must specify this according in the settlement payment details of all main master contracts.
If you wish to break down the posting of the combined settlement charges, you must create a customer-defined implementation for the Business Add-In BAdI: Payment Notes for Postings
.

Master contract with the balance transfer feature, enhances with the compensation feature
Master contract 10 has the Balance Transfer
(BT) feature and the Combined Settlement
(CSL) feature. The Condition Type Restriction
indicator is set for the master contract.
Accounts 100, 200, and 300 are participants of the master contract 10. In this 1:n relationship, account 100 and account 200 are funding accounts and account 300 is funded account of master contract 10.
A charge condition is stored in the conditions of master contract 10 that envisages a charge of EUR 5 for every participating account. When executing the combined settlement for master contract 10, the system takes account of account 100, 200, and account 300 and therefore calculates a charge of EUR 15.
