Standing Order With Fixed and Variable Amount

You can differentiate between standing orders based on their amount types and how they are processed:

  • Standing orders with fixed amounts (internal processing)

  • Standing orders with fixed amounts (external processing)

  • Standing orders with variable amounts

The differentiation results from the transaction type selected when creating a standing order. To do so, you must have defined the following entries for the corresponding transaction types in Customizing for Account Management under Start of the navigation path Item Management Next navigation step Basic Functions Next navigation step Transaction Types and Transaction Type Groups Next navigation step Define and Assign Transaction Types for Payment Items End of the navigation path:

  • Maintenance of Transaction Types group box, Item Type field: Ordering party item

  • Control group box, Transfer PO PT field:

    • Standing orders with fixed amounts (external processing) Select checkbox

    • Standing orders with variable amounts and standing orders with fixed amounts (internal): Do not select checkbox

  • Usage group box, Standing Order field:

    • Standing orders with fixed amounts (internal and external) Fixed amount

    • Standing orders with variable amounts: Variable amount

Standing orders with fixed amounts (internal processing)

The system posts these standing orders on the execution date and processes them in Account Management.

Standing orders with fixed amounts (external processing)

For example, you can use standing orders with fixed amounts and external processing for SEPA direct debits.

The system posts these standing orders on the execution date and transfers them to a payment transaction system.

Standing orders with variable amounts

For example, you can use standing orders with variable amounts for transfers in savings and investment plans.

The system calculates the amounts for such standing orders dependent on the account balance at the time of execution and the following specified values:

  • Rounding factor:

  • Percentage rate

  • Base amount

  • Minimum and maximum transfer amount

The system calculates an interim amount as a preliminary step for the calculation of the execution amount. The calculation is based on the current balance of the ordering party accoun (OP = ordering party, R = recipient):t:

Interim amount = (account balanceOP - base amountOP) x percentage executionR (- rounding off)

The following applies:

  • The execution amount is the same as the interim amount if there is no minimum or maximum transfer amount.

  • The execution amount is 0 if the interim amount is less than the minimum transfer amount. In this case, the standing order is not executed.

  • The execution amount is the same as the interim amount if the interim amount is more than the minimum transfer amount and less than the maximum transfer amount.

  • The execution amount is the same as the maximum transfer amount if the interim amount is more than the maximum transfer amount.

Note Note

The Business Add-In (BadI) Control Execution Amount (Variable Standing Order) is available for the individual adjustment of the execution amount.

End of the note.
