Procedure documentationEditing Payment Advice

On the Payment Advice tab page, you define how a due amount is paid or collected for a process result type (such as Credit Interest) of a business process (such as Account Settlement).

For more information, see Payment Advice.

Prerequisites

  • You have activated Payment Advice as a feature in the product on which the account is based. You have made the relevant settings in Customizing for Financial Services under Create Account Product or Change Account Product by choosing Account Management —> Product Management —> Product Definition —> Account Products.

  • You have the option to set values restrictions of business processes for which payment advice can be maintained for an account of the product.

  • You have made the necessary settings in Customizing for Payment Advice. For more information, see the Prerequisites section of Payment Advice.

Procedure

Creating Payment Advice

  1. Choose Create Payment Advice on the Payment Advice tab page and select values for the business process, process result type and group number under the section Payment Advice.

  2. Group Number: You assign a group number in order to maintain passive groups which can be selected at the time of payment processing. For example, in the case of disbursement, you can maintain multiple groups of payment advice. When you disburse a particular installment, you can select a specific group from the disbursement order.

At least one of the multiple groups you create must be a default group. Select Default Group to set a group as the default.

  3. Split Percentage: You can also assign a split percentage to indicate the percentage of the due amount to be paid or collected. The sum of the percentage for all payment advice items in a payment advice group must total 100.

  4. Based on the direction set by the business process, enter data in the Debit and Credit sections.

Select the payment advice type and an appropriate counterparty from the list of values provided.

    Note Note

The Counterparty field is input-disabled and the value for the field can only be selected from the list of values provided.

    End of the note.

If the required counterparty is not available, you can maintain counterparties by choosing Create Counterparty on the Maintain Payment Advice dialog box.

Modifying Payment Advice

To modify an already-existing payment advice item, select the payment advice item on the Payment Advice tab page and choose Maintain Payment Advice. You can only change the percentage split, the default group, the payment advice type and the counterparty.

Deleting Payment Advice

  • To delete an existing payment advice item, select the payment advice item on the Payment Advice tab page and choose Delete Payment Advice.

  • To delete all payment advice items, choose Reset Cache Entry on the Payment Advice tab page.

Result

Payment advice items are created for a business process, based on which the system carries out the appropriate business process operations.
