Procedure documentationEditing Organizational Areas

On the Organizational Areas tab page, you assign organizational units to organizational areas and then assign the complete combination of organizational area and related organizational units to a single Group ID.

Prerequisites

  • You have activated the Organizational Area feature and the Assignment Details for Organizational Unit grouping for the product attributes on which the account is based. You do this in the IMG activity Create Account Product or Change Account Product in Customizing for Financial Services by choosing Account Management —> Product Management —> Product Definition —> Account Products.

  • You have made the following necessary settings in Customizing for Organizational Area. For more information, see Customizing for Financial Services by choosing Account Management —> Contract Management —> Account —> Organizational Area.

Procedure

  • To use an already existing group ID, choose Existing Group Id and select an existing group ID. The group ID is displayed on the screen and its assignment details are displayed in the table.

  • To create a new group ID, choose New Group ID and enter a unique group ID.

  • To add new assignment details:

    • Choose Insert row.

    • Enter the Org Area, Org Unit Type, and Org. Unit ID and assign a priority.

    • Repeat the process for multiple assignments.

  • To delete existing assignments, select the assignment entry and choose Delete Row.

  • To change an existing assignment, choose Change. You can make changes to the organizational unit type and organizational unit ID.

  • To delete the entire assignment details, choose Delete.

Result

The organizational area assignment details created for the contract can be used for the purpose of notification in different business processes.

Example

Take the case of the renewal business process, where a contract is nearing the end date and the customer wants to renew the contract. The monthly mass run generates a post-processing order for the organizational unit ID of the billing clerk by picking up the assignment details maintained in the Organizational Area tab page for that contract. Next, the clerk opens the post-processing order and observes that a notification must be sent to the customer regarding contract renewal.
