Editing the Adjustment Date Group Box
In the Adjustment Date
group box on the Adjustment
tab page, you edit the fields for a condition that belong to date category 220030 Adjustment Date
.
In this group box, you define the adjustment date and the frequency with which a reference interest rate is to be adjusted.
For more information about adjustment, see Interest Rate Adjustment.
You specify the first adjustment date. All further adjustment dates are based on the time periods that you set up. The system adds the repetition unit to the first adjustment date.
The adjustment can be periodic, or it can be based on the settings of another date category, or you can create individual adjustment dates during the calendar year. This means you have the following options for the date update:
Periodic date update
Relative date update
Date update with annual set of dates
On the Calculation
tab page, you have entered an interest reference or you are using an interest reference in a formula. The fields in the Adjustment Date
group box are now ready for input.
You can make the following settings:
You can enter a working day shift for the future periodic dates.
The working day shift specifies whether, and by how many days, the determined date is to be shifted if it falls on a Sunday or a public holiday.
For more information, see Shifting Dates
You can enter up to five calendars for the working day shift.
If you enter the working day shift, enter at least one calendar for this.
Note
The system uses the calendars that you enter to calculate a working day based on the working day shift. A working day must be a working day in all the calendars.
If the reference interest rate is to be adjusted periodically, enter Periodic in the Frequency Category
field.
You can make the following settings:
Enter the frequency in the Repetition Period
und Repetition Unit
fields.
Enter the first adjustment date.
You can flag the start date as being inclusive. This makes the adjustment date inclusive in all periods.
You can enter a number of days to postpone the adjustment date or bring it forward (negative plus/minus sign).
Alternatively, you can enter a reference date for the start date. This means that the adjustment is adapted, for example, to the contract start or the fixing start date.
You can enter a one-time shift for the reference date.
You can enter one or more key days on which the periodic adjustment is to take place. If you enter 31, each month is set to the last day of the month.
Example
The start date is on 01/28/2008 if the update is periodic, and the frequency is monthly.
If you enter 28 for the key day, the system always updates the date on the 28th of the month. 02/28/2008, 03/28/2008, 04/27/2008, 05/28/2008 and so on would then follow.
If you enter 31 for the key day, the system always updates the date on the last day of the month. 02/29/2008, 03/30/2008, 04/30/2008, 05/31/2008 and so on would then follow.
If you enter the working day shift, you can select the Fixed Periods
checkbox. The system then updates the data with fixed periods. This means that if a date is moved due to a working day shift, the moved date is the starting point for continued update.
To adjust the reference interest rate in relation to a reference date, enter Relative in the Frequency Category
field.
You can make the following settings:
You can enter a number of days to postpone the adjustment date or bring it forward (negative plus/minus sign).
