Editing Rules for Event-Controlled Product Change (Card)

Use

You can use this function to define global rules for the event-controlled product change for individual cards. The system then automatically executes the product change each time the event you selected occurs for one of the cards affected by the settings in this function.

You can specify the events for which the system executes a product change for each source product. You can also subdivide your settings further by entering the product version.

You can choose the event Card Exchange , Renewal Run or both.

If you do not need a rule temporarily, you can deactivate the corresponding entry. If you no longer need the rule at all, you can limit the validity of the rule by entering a corresponding valid-to date.

Integration

Active event-controlled product change orders that you have created individually take precedence over those defined with this function. If both an individual order and a global rule affect a card, the system disregards the rule.

Prerequisites

You have carried out the IMG activities in the Customizing for Account Management (FS-AM) under Start of the navigation path Order Management Next navigation step Product Change (Card) End of the navigation path .

Scope of Functions

For a card exchange or renewal run, the system always checks whether an active product change order created individually or in a mass run exists.

If an active product change order exists, the system always executes the product change during a card exchange or renewal run.

If no active product change order exists, the system checks whether an active global rule exists for the events Card Exchange or Renewal Run for the combination of source product, product version and valid-to date. If yes, the system executes the product change directly during a card exchange or renewal run.

Activities

  1. From the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Start of the navigation path Account Management Next navigation step Current Settings Next navigation step Event-Controlled Product Change Next navigation step Edit Rules for Individual Card End of the navigation path .

  2. Enter the required data and note that you cannot delete saved entries, although you can deactivate them.

You can only enter combinations of source and target products that are allowed in the Customizing settings for Account Management (FS-AM) under Start of the navigation path Order Management Next navigation step Product Change (Card) Next navigation step Define Product Transitions End of the navigation path .

Example

In your bank, all credit cards of the card product VISA are to be converted to the card product VISA+ by January 1st 2005. Both card products are to be valid during a transition period from September 1 st 2004 to January 1 st 2005. Replacement cards and renewal cards are to be replaced with the new card product VISA+ during this period. For this purpose, you define a global rule with VISA as the source product and VISA+ as the target product.
