Determination of the Foreign Exchange Position Accounts

Use

The system uses this function to determine the account for the forex position posting, by using the derivation rulesthat you defined. You can define conditions for the following source fields:

  • Bank posting area

  • Account currency

  • Offsetting currency

  • Free differentiation characteristic

    Note Note

When you post a payment item, and when you create a prenote, the system supplies the differentiation characteristic with BTE 0BCA3501 BTE Currency Exchange - Differentiation Characteristic for Account Derivation.

    End of the note.

Example:

The system determines the account Acct DE/90000001/0010008839/DE04900000010010008839 for a payment item of bank posting area 9066 , with account currency EUR, and offsetting currency USD.

Integration

This function is part of the currency exchange process.

Foreign exchange (forex) positions are posted in the following cases:

  • Once the system has determined exchange rate categories and exchange rates and used the currency translation to translate the payment item amounts, it determines the corresponding forex position accounts. Next, the system executes interim postings on these accounts.

  • If the amount in the transaction currencydiffers from that in the account currency, where the two currencies are the same for a payment item, and if you have set the Allow Amount Difference in Transaction/Account Currency indicator, then the system determines the corresponding forex position account. Next, the system executes interim postings on this account.
