External Repositories
External repositories are repositories you set up to access resources managed by other systems. You extend the spectrum of CM to include content that is managed externally.
The following repository managers, needed in order to access external systems, are contained in the standard delivery:
· File System Repository Manager
Provides read and write access to content stored in a file system.
Repositories of this type can also be used as internal repositories, for storing templates, stylesheets, and other customizing data. The repository /etc is used for this in the KM standard delivery. It contains different types of XSL stylesheets, parameter files, and other configuration files. Various CM services and repository filters need to read data from or write data to these directories.
· Lotus Notes Repository Manager
Offers read access to documents that are stored on a Lotus Domino server.
Provides read and write access to content stored on a WebDAV server, for example, on an MS Internet Information Server.
· Web Repository Manager und Simple Web Repository Manager
Provide read-only access to the content of a Web site for crawling and indexing purposes.
Repository managers for the SAP NetWeaver™ scenario variant Information Broadcasting.
· Repository Manager for BI Documents
Provides read and write access to documents stored in SAP Business Information Warehouse.
· Repository Manager for BI Metadata
Provides read access to metadata stored in SAP Business Information Warehouse.
SAP-certified repository managers of other providers can be found in SAP Developer Network at https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/contentportfolio.sdn.
You can use the released repository framework API to program your own repository managers and have them certified by SAP.
