Designing a Report 

Purpose

The Designing a Report  IT process allows business experts to create formatted reports. These are referred to as reports in the following. The BEx Report Designer is available in the Business Explorer for this purpose. The BEx Report Designer is a .NET-based, user-friendly and intuitive design tool for creating formatted reports and presentation-optimized and print-optimized reports.

Use of the Process

Prerequisites

In order to run this process, queries or query views have to be determined as the data source. You have created queries in the Designing a Query IT process and query views in the Ad-hoc Analysis IT process.

Process Flow

The following process runs primarily in the BI Java usage type:

       1.      You open the required query or query view.

       2.      You create the report.

       3.      You save the report.

Result

You have created individually customized reports.
