Overview of the Customizing Settings (Archiving Workbench)
Purpose
The archiving Customizing settings are used to set parameters that influence the process of data archiving for archiving objects generated with the Archiving Workbench. Using the parallel processing tool means you are required to include various Customizing activities in addition to the activities for the conventional archiving objects.
Read the following documents about Customizing settings with regard to the aspects below:
·
The control tables and
Customizing entries you have to deliver to your customers.
When you perform individual activities with the Archiving Workbench, the
system generates control tables and Customizing entries. The system
automatically posts newly created control table entries to a Workbench request
of the Transport Organizer (transaction SE10) and then delivers them to
the customers. When you make Customizing entries, however, you must ensure
that they are recorded as sample Customizing settings in the appropriate
Customizing client in your development system and then delivered to the
customers. The Archiving Workbench cannot guarantee this
automatically.
· The IMG activities you have to include in your application’s implementation guide in order to enable your customers to enter values in the IMG activities and thereby control the data archiving process according to their requirements.
Prerequisite
You are authorized to change the Customizing settings.
Process Flow
The Customizing settings for archiving objects generated with the Archiving Workbench are divided into the following areas:
You must include both general archiving object and archiving object-specific Customizing settings. You can find more information on these in the Data Archiving Customizing Settings (Archiving Workbench) section of the SAP Library.
To control the parallel processing phases of data archiving (analysis and write), you must perform the required Customizing activities and adjust the settings in the implementation guide. For more information, refer to the Parallel Processing Customizing Settings (Archiving Workbench) section of the SAP Library.
