Installation Requirements

The installation requirements of the SAP GUI for HTML are minimal:

·        On the client side, no additional components are needed

Most PCs are equipped with standard Web browser software that allows you to run Web applications and display the results in HTML. Also, the SAP GUI for HTML generates HTML pages dynamically.

·        On the server side, you need to install the Internet Transaction Server (ITS) in front of the SAP application server, because the ITS is the interface between the SAP system and the Internet.

Installation of the SAP GUI for HTML is integrated into the standard ITS setup.

To install the SAP GUI for HTML, follow the setup procedure described in the SAP@Web Installation Guide and make sure that you install the Internet Application Component (IAC) package webgui, which is the set of files – service file, HTML templates, flow files, language resources and MIME files – required by the ITS to drive the SAP GUI for HTML.

If you want to run business graphics and display graphic formats such as networks and bar charts in the SAP GUI for HTML, you must also install the Internet Graphics Server (IGS):

System Requirements

To run the ITS (and hence the SAP GUI for HTML), your system must satisfy the following requirements:

Web server	Any of the following: ·        Microsoft Internet Information Server (with ISAPI interface) ·        Netscape Enterprise Server (with NSAPI interface) ·        iPlanet Web Server, Enterprise Edition ·        Apache Web Server (with Apache Web Server API) ·        Other Web servers with CGI interface
Web browser	Netscape 6.2 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 (or higher ) on Windows 32-bit operating systems.
SAP system	Release 3.1I or higher.
