Configuring and Activating the System
Landscape Directory (SLD) 
Purpose
You require the SLD to monitor your system landscape, if you want to use the SAP NetWeaver Administrator, since the information about the monitored systems is stored in the SLD for this application. To be able to use the SLD, you need to configure and also start the SLD itself, and to enter the ABAP and Java systems of your system landscape in the SLD.
