Ad-hoc Analysis
The Ad-hoc Analysis IT process enables business experts to execute an ad-hoc analysis in the Web. In the Business Explorer (BEx), the Web Analyzer, which provides a number of analysis and navigation options, is available for this purpose. The ad-hoc analysis generates a new view of the data that can be saved as a query view. The result of the analysis (the changed view of the Web application) can be saved and distributed using information broadcasting.
This IT process is part of the following IT scenario:

In order to run this process, you need a data provider that forms the basis of the ad-hoc analysis. You have selected the data provider in the Data Provider Selection IT process.
The following process runs primarily in the BI Java usage type:
...
1. You set the filter values.
2. You change the order of the columns using Drag&Drop.
3. You perform a drilldown of the data to the characteristic values.
4. You display the data in chart form and make some settings.
5. You create a ranked list condition (top N).
6. You save the query view generated by the analysis (as required).
7. You save the result (the view of the Web application changed by analysis) and distribute the result (as required).
You have performed an ad-hoc analysis and have saved a query view and/or the result of the analysis as needed.
