Use

Create a new layout or a layout template, based on an existing portal component. A layout created from a template inherits the properties, values, and attributes defined in the template, but can be modified for various purposes.

This procedure is not relevant for Web Dynpro iViews.

Procedure

             

       1.      In the portal top-level navigation, choose Content Administration ® Portal Content.

       2.      In the Portal Catalog expand Portal Content ® Templates.

       3.      Right-click the Template Layouts folder and choose New From PAR ® Layout. (Running this operation from the Template Layouts folder is a matter of organization. You can store your new layout or template in any folder in the Portal Catalog.)

       4.      Follow the instructions on each screen of the wizard.

Portal Archive Selection

Select com.sap.portal.layouts.default and choose Next.

Portal Component Selection

Select the layout format on which you want to base the new layout and choose Next.

General Properties

Enter the basic information and choose Next.

For details about each field, see Running the Page Wizard in Creating a Portal Page.

Summary Details

Review the options you selected for the new page. To make changes, choose Back until you return to the appropriate screen.

When you are ready to create the layout, click Finish.

Next Step

Choose your next step and click OK.

 

Result

The new layout is stored in the Portal Content Directory (PCD) and displayed in the Portal Catalog.
