User Management Configuration 

Purpose

In the SAP Enterprise Portal, user management is provided by the User Management Engine (UME), a service in the J2EE Engine. We recommend that you perform all configuration tasks using the configuration tools of the J2EE Engine. For more information on the configuration of UME in the J2EE Engine, see UME Configuration.

In addition, the portal offers a configuration tool to make certain configuration tasks easier. You can use this tool for tasks such as setting the security settings for passwords, changing UME properties, or making settings for notification mails.
