Process documentation Creating BEx Web Application iViews Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

You can integrate BEx Web applications as an iView with no difficulty by selecting the SAP BW Report template in the iView Wizard. The template is automatically installed with SAP Enterprise Portal.

Prerequisites

You selected the SAP BW Report iView template in step 1 of the iView Wizard and followed the instructions given by the Wizard. For more information see Launching the iView Wizard and General Information.

The Web access point must be maintained in the system landscape. For more information see Structure linkSystem Landscape and Structure linkCreating System Objects.

Process Flow

You must maintain the following properties in order to display a BEx Web application in the portal as an iView:

·         System

·         BEx Web Application query string

·         R/3 Logon Language

System

Enter the system alias for the desired SAP BW System here.
This field is required.

The system alias refers to a BW system that was defined in the portal. For more information see Structure linkDefining the System Alias.

BEx Web Application Query String

Field BEx Web Application Query String must contain the following values for BEx Web applications, BW queries and BW bookmarks:

·        BEx Web application:
template_id=<TEMPLATE_ID>

·        BW query:
infocube=<INFOCUBE>&query=<QUERY>

·        BW bookmark:
bookmark_id=<BOOKMARK_ID>

This field is required.

Note

You can add further URL parameters of the SAP BW, for example to define filter values. For more information see Structure linkInstruction URLs.

R/3 Logon Language

In this field you define the language in which the BEx Web Application should be displayed.

The possible values are the language codes according to ISO 639. This field is optional. If you do not make an entry in this field, the portal language is used.
