Creating a Portal Tenant System
The portal provides a default system template, named Portal Tenant System, for creating a unique system for each tenant. The portal tenant system enables the portal to connect a tenant to its respective user client in an ABAP system.
Later, when you create a portal tenant in the Tenant Management tool, you will assign the system to the portal tenant; therefore, you must create a portal tenant system before you can define the portal tenant.

If an iView accesses data from a SAP system, you must create separate system using the appropriate system template, even if the data source is located in the same SAP system as the ABAP client in which the tenant's users are stored.
You have logged on to the portal as a system administrator (a super administrator is also sufficient).
...
1. In the portal, navigate to System Administration ® System Configuration ® System Landscape. The System LandscapeEditor is displayed.
2. In the Portal Catalog, right-click the folder in which you want to create the system, and choose New ® System.
3. In the System Wizard, choose the Portal Tenant System template.
4. Complete the wizard to create the system. For general information about creating systems, see Running the System Landscape Wizard.

System aliases for portal tenant systems are not used in a multitenant portal; therefore you do not need to create one.

If you have not yet assigned a portal tenant system to a tenant using the Tenant Management tool, you can make copies of the system using the Copy ® Paste action in the Portal Catalog context menu. Do not create a copy of a system that is already assigned to a portal tenant. Do not use the Copy ® Paste as Delta Link action.
You have created a unique portal tenant system for a specific portal tenant.
At this point, the system you created is not yet complete. You need to now edit the portal tenant system object and define which ABAP client the portal tenant will use for its user data. See Defining UME Data Source Properties in a Portal Tenant System.

If you delete a portal tenant system that is assigned to a portal tenant, the following is valid until the portal is restarted:
§ The tenant is still listed in the Tenant Management screen. The tenant will be removed after clicking Refresh in the Tenant Management toolbar.
§ A tenant user can still log on to the portal.
§ A tenant administrator can still assign roles to the users of the tenant.
§ A user administrator can still assign roles to users of the tenant.
§ A tenant content admin can still create content in the portal.
