Configuring Pages/iViews for Data Collection 

Use

For each page/iView in the Portal Catalog, you can set the following properties, which determine whether the data collection service collects information for that object:

·        Monitor Hits: If set to true, data is collected about the number of people who viewed this page/iView.

The default is true, except for the following navigation iViews in the Default Framework Page (listed by object ID):

¡        com.sap.portal.toolAreaiView

¡        com.sap.portal.topLevelNavigationiView

¡        com.sap.portal.pageToolbar

¡        com.sap.portal.innerpage

¡        com.sap.portal.detailedNavigationTree

¡        com.sap.portal.dynamicNavigationArea

¡        com.sap.portal.targetsiView

¡        com.sap.portal.targetsiView_

¡        com.sap.portal.contentarea

¡        com.sap.portal.messageArea

¡        com.sap.portal.pageTimeout

You can also prevent the collection of data for a page/iView by adding the PCD address for the page/iView to the Objects to discard from reports setting for the data collection service.

·        Monitor Users (pages only): If set to true, data about the users who visited this page is collected.

The default is false.

You can also start collecting data about users who visit a page by adding the PCD address for the page to the Pages for which to gather user data setting for the data collection service.

Procedure

...

       1.      Open the Property Editor for the page/iView whose properties you want to set.

       2.      Set the Monitor Hits (pages/iViews) and Monitor Users (pages) properties.
