Using the URL iView Wizard 
You use the URL iView Wizard to create URL iViews in the portal.
The wizard enables you to define the following:
· Basic properties of the iView, such iView name, ID, and namespace
· The URL from which the iView retrieves its content.
· The content to display in the iView. You can choose to display the entire Web page of the source URL or a selected area within it.
Once you have created the iView, you can edit it in the URL iView Editor. In the editor, you can modify the basic settings previously defined in the wizard, and also define more advanced settings, such as parameters in the URL and the look and feel of the iView content. See URL iView Editor.
· You have the necessary portal permissions to create content in the portal.
· You have the necessary portal permissions to use the URL iView template.
· Although the wizard does provide a browser that enables you to navigate and choose the source URL of the appropriate Web page, it is recommended you first familiarize yourself with the Web site and its content using your Web browser.

1. Launch the iView Wizard, as described in Launching the iView Wizard and General Information.
2. Choose iView template as your source type.
3. To initiate the URL iView wizard, choose the default iView template, called URL iView.

The location of the default iView template in the Portal Catalog is: Portal Content ® Templates ® Template iViews. You may create copies of this default template and then choose to create new URL iViews from them.
4. In the General Properties screen, define the basic properties of the iView. For more information, see Launching the iView Wizard and General Information.
5. Choose Next to continue.
6. Follow the instructions for each step, detailed in the table below. An asterisk in the user interface indicates mandatory fields.

In the Enter URL box, enter the URL of the Web page that provides content to the iView. Alternatively, click Browse/Capture to open the portal’s built-in browser window. In the browser you can navigate to the Web page and choose the content to display in the iView at runtime. You may also enter a base URL and then click Browse/Capture to navigate deeper into the Web site. |

7. In the Summary Details step, review the options you selected for the new iView. To make changes, choose Back until you return to the appropriate screen.
8. Click Finish to create the iView.
You have created an iView that retrieves its content from a Web-based information source in HTML.

The new iView is linked to the standard URL iView template through a delta link relationship.
To configure additional settings, such as parameters in the URL and the look and feel of the iView content, and modify the settings you defined in the wizard, edit the iView in the URL iView Editor (see URL iView Editor).
If needed, you may
edit additional iView properties that are not related to the URL, such as
iView height and tray properties, in the
Property Editor.
