Use

The Role Editor and the Workset Editor are object editors that are provided in the Portal Content Studio for creating and modifying content objects.

The Role and Workset Editors have nearly identical functions and are therefore described together here.

Features

With the Role Editor and Workset Editor you can:

·        Create roles and worksets and build structure hierarchies

·        Assign content objects to roles and worksets (as a delta link or as a copy)

The following areas of the Portal Content Studio are relevant for maintaining roles and worksets:

·        Display area for the content objects (= view on the structure of the Portal Catalog): The Portal Catalog displays existing content objects such as roles, worksets, iViews and pages within a tree structure. Before you create roles and worksets, you should create the folders in which you want to store your objects in the tree structure of the Portal Catalog. In the Portal Catalog you see all the objects for which you have display and maintenance permissions.

·        Edit Area for the content objects: In the Edit Area you can create and change new and existing roles and worksets. Once you have created a role or workset in the Edit Area, this object can be seen on the left side in the Portal Catalog. You see the objects without their hierarchy in the Portal Catalog. The hierarchy of roles and worksets can only be seen in the Edit Area.

·        Property Editor: The Property Editor is opened on the right side of the Edit Area for each object in the Edit Area of the Portal Content Studio. In the Property Editor you can change and overwrite certain role and workset properties.
