Check the file system attributes and the operating system rights of the user profile container. This file has the name <database_name>.upc. On Windows, you can find this file in the configdirectory of the database installation. On UNIX systems, this file is in /usr/spool/sql/config. Use the DBM command user_getall  to check the existence of the user.
