Automatic Start 

Use

You can also configure the operating system and database instance so that the database instance is automatically set to the ONLINE operational state when the computer is started. To do this, you set the Startup type to Automatic in the services for the kernel of the database instance.

Microsoft Windows

You define whether a database instance will be started automatically when you create the database instance. See:

To configure automatic start later, use the Database Manager CLI. See:

The X Server, which you need for network communication, is started automatically by the database system.

UNIX/Linux

On UNIX/Linux, you create a start script and generate symbolic links to it in the desired run-level directories. You can find more information about starting programs automatically in your operating system documentation.
