Background documentation Automatic Log Backup Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

If automatic log backup is activated, the database system automatically backs up redo log entries from a log segment of the log area to a version file, as soon as the log segment is full. The database system can then overwrite old redo log entries in a log segment with new redo log entries.

Caution

If automatic log backup is activated, you have to archive the version files regularly.
