Unit of Measure
The key figure values shown in the report are calculated in the base unit of measure of the underlying planning area in the SAP APO system. For key figures that were defined in SAP Business Information Warehouse as InfoObjects of type “amount”, the key figure values are displayed in the currency of the planning area.
Exceptions to this rule are the auxiliary key figures that are defined in the planning book. These can be unitless key figures or a unit of measure can be defined for them in the Planning Book Wizard
dialog box, which you can open in the Define Planning Book
transaction (/SAPAPO/SDP8B
). The quantities or key figure values of these auxiliary key figures are never converted to the base unit of measure of the planning area.
You can set up the system to display the units of measure in which key figure values are calculated in your report. If every key figure value is calculated in the same unit of measure, you can set up the system to display that unit only once, as a report detail shown outside the data area. If not every key figure value is calculated in the same unit of measure, you can create a local member for this purpose. In both cases, you must select a special EPM function for the calculation.
To add a unit of measure as a report detail, proceed as follows:
Click a cell outside the data area.
Enter =EPM and select EPMMemberProperty
from the dropdown list that appears.
Select the Insert Function
command next to the entry field of Microsoft Excel.
In the Function Arguments
dialog box that opens, enter the following:
Member
field: Enter the name of the key figure whose unit of measure you want to be displayed as a report detail. Use quotation marks before and after the name. For example, enter "History". You can also choose to enter the number of a cell where the name of the selected key figure is displayed; in this case, do not use quotation marks. For example, enter B5,
Property
field: Enter "PA_BASE_UOM"
To add a unit of measure in a new column for every row in your report, proceed as follows:
Insert a column in your report (for example, after the column displaying the key figures)
Enter a name for your new column (for example, UoM)
Proceed from step 2 as above.
