Liquidity Planning
Purpose
The planning application "liquidity planning" supports groupwide liquidity planning based on value date and currency. This means the planned cash flows are posted period-specific taking account of the various currencies concerned. You have the possibility to execute plan/actual comparisons with the integration of actual data.
The planning application contains planning functions of the SEM-BPS standard delivery, an InfoCube as well as delivered SEM-BPS Customizing for the specific planning scenario. A further InfoCube saves the actual data, which is extracted from the R/3 source systems. Queries for plan/actual comparisons are executed in a MultiCube, which contains both aforementioned InfoCubes.
The delivered Customizing in SEM-BPS only serves as an example. You can adapt the delivered InfoCubes to the conditions which prevail in your company. Provided that certain minimum prerequisites are fulfilled, you can also use your own InfoCubes and the planning functions for this. You can also adapt the planning functions to your specific demands with corresponding Customizing.
Process Flow
In the sample scenario, a group consisting of four planning units plans its expected cash flows for the next six months on the basis of a predetermined structure of the items to be planned (liquidity items).
The persons responsible for each planning unit call up the planning package that belongs to their planning unit within the context of rolling planning on the individual planning key dates. Here they plan the cash flows in the relevant currencies corresponding to the predetermined structure of the liquidity items and the specified planning period.
The actual data determined in the operational systems of the individual planning units, is transferred into the SAP Business Information Warehouse periodically.
Plan and actual data can be consolidated at group-level and is used there as the basis for further financial transactions.
