Example: Block Layout for Opportunity
Planning
This example uses some data records for an opportunity to demonstrate the effects of different settings under Lead Columns (see also Lead Column Display).
The following data records exist for an opportunity:
|
Opportunity |
Opp. Item |
Month |
Sales |
End Customer Quantity |
|

Product 1 |
January |
1000 |
|

Product 2 |

100 000 |
You make the following settings in an enhanced planning layout:
· The opportunity item should be displayed as a block.
· The end customer quantity should only be shown in the header, whereas sales should be shown in the header and the item.
On the basis of these settings and the existing data records, the system defines the block layout for the opportunity as follows:
· A separate block is created for each value of the characteristic Opportunity Item.
· The first block of the layout displays all data records for which the opportunity item contains the value nonassigned (#). This first block with the nonassigned values for the characteristic selected as block automatically becomes the header of the block layout. For this reason, the system displays all key figures that are to be displayed either just in the header (here, the end customer quantity) or in the header and the item (here, sales).
· Beneath it, there are two more blocks for product 1 and product 2 respectively. These blocks contain the key figures that are to be displayed either just in the item or in the header and the item (here, sales).
The block layout looks as follows:
